Rector/Lead Pastor

​Rev David McCarthy

 
Dave studied at Edinburgh University and was ordained in 1988. He served at St Paul’s and St George’s, Edinburgh, and at The Priory Church of St Mary of Mount Carmel in South Queensferry, before leading St Silas’ Glasgow for nineteen years and St Thomas's Edinburgh for 10 years.
He has a passion to engage with the community and share God’s love. He currently serves on the Scottish advisory committee of Tearfund and as a trustee of Gafcon UK. Dave's three children are all grown up.
Dave is married to Ali who teaches history.  They enjoy walking, travel, music, movies, castles and watching rugby.

Steve Townsend

I have lived in Westhill and Kingswells, with my wife Jenny, since 1974. I am a retired academic, having worked mostly at the University of Aberdeen, but also at the University of Botswana for a couple of years. I serve on the Vestry, and in the past this included representing the church on the Diocesan Synod. My main passion is in communicating the message of the Bible in preaching, writing, and various other ways; to find out more go to http://www.jennysteve.net

Jill Benstead

I  am married to Paul, we have 4 grown up children, two grandchilden, and a dog. I am retired.
I love reading, gardening, walking the dog, seeing my granddaughter and meeting friends. My passion is to hear from God and encourage others to grow.

Charles Cole

I moved to Westhill in 2001 and currently work in the oil industry. I am married to Toyin and we have two daughters. I have a desire to see Christians walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, growing and becoming more like Jesus Christ in all things and being fully equipped for whatever God has called them to do.  I enjoy most sport - particularly football, squash and the odd bit of running.

Sandra McGregor

I am a middle-aged wife (of Calum) and a mum of four grown up children.  
​I am passionate about spreading the love of Jesus and supporting and encouraging those who are going through hard times.  I love music, theatre, spending time with family and friends and looking after our three precious grandchildren.  All-in-all I would say, I'm an ordinary woman seeking to serve an extraordinary God!

Malcolm Stewart

I live in Midmar 10 miles west of Westhill. I am married to Lorna and we have three adult children. I work as a children’s dentist at Aberdeen Dental School. I believe small groups are essential to our growth and development as Christians as a place where we can experience God in a new and meaningful way. If I have any spare time left I try to play basketball and act as my children’s personal chauffeur.
