The Bereavement Journey
This is a course designed to help bereaved people to process their grief and to begin to move forward in life after loss. It is run at Westhill Community Church over 7 weeks with each session lasting just over 2 hours. Each session comprises two films followed by an opportunity for discussion in small groups. We’ll cover topics such as:
- Attachment, separation and loss
- The impact and pain of bereavement
- Anger and guilt
- Coping with others’ reactions.
Who can attend ?
- People of any faith or no faith (not just people who may go to church). There is an optional final 7th session which is more reflective and is about faith questions in bereavement and offers a Christian perspective.
- Anyone over 18 who has been bereaved at any time, 4 weeks ago or 20 years ago, although we recommend that people do not attend until after the funeral. The course can be attended more than once as the way we face grief may change over time.
