Care and Support in the Community

God calls the church to be an agent of healing and support for those going through crises or need.
As a church we seek not only to reach our church family but also to act as an extension of God's love and care
to those within our community of Westhill, Kingswells and Skene,
whether they are church folks or not.
These are the ways we currently provide care and support:

Prayer Support

As part of our commitment to all who live in this area, we undertake to pray for any prayer request that you may have - for youself, for your loved ones or for the wider world.  There are two ways you can get in touch: firstly online, by sending us your prayer request (click on the button below), and secondly by filling in a Prayer Request card in the foyer of the Church and popping it in the Prayer Request Box.  Nothing is too big or small for God so why not give it a try?  Prayer requests are included in our prayers in Church during Sunday morning services. Personal details are kept confidential.

We are able to provide tinned/dried food items, toiletries and other items for people in need. If you, or anybody you know, could benefit from some help from the food bank please get in touch:
Tel: 07379 836380 or email [email protected] .

Wellbeing Support

Every Monday from 1-3pm we have our Oasis Wellbeing Café.   It is a café style space where you can come and be yourself, be renewed and feel refreshed and experience peace, welcome and friendship while participating in table top activities, hobbies, crafts or “just being present”.   Free refreshments are available and there is a quiet area for contemplation, thought and prayer.

Support for the Bereaved

The death of someone close to you can be one of the most painful experiences you could ever suffer.  Our Bereavement page  provides information to help guide you through this difficult and sad time.
There you will also find details of a 7 week course run by WCC called The Bereavement Journey; it is designed to help people to understand and begin to see a way forward in their grief.

Emotional Support

Westhill Community Church encourages those seeking emotional support to consider Hope Counselling.  Folks who are over 18 can self-refer by calling 07899 736803 where they will be able to access a proven team of qualified and experienced Aberdeen-based counsellors and psychotherapists who offer affordable, confidential and a comprehensive range of therapy and approaches.  While the ethos of Hope Counselling lies within the Christian tradition, their service is available to those of any faith and none.  For further information, email the team on [email protected] or click on the image to go to their website https://www.hope-counselling.org.uk
